Homemade Mustard

This is one condiment that people either love or hate and a lot of people don't even realize that it comes directly from a plant! Today I show you how simple it is to make a spicy, homemade, delicious Dijon-mustard at home.

Equipment

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 High Speed Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 6 Tbsp Yellow Mustard Seed
  • 1/3 Cup White Vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup Dry White Wine
  • 1 Tbsp Shallot Minced
  • 3/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp White Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Brown Sugar
  • Pinch All Spice Ground

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stir and cover. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight, and up to 24 hours.
  • Place in high-speed blender and blend until smooth.

Notes

  1. This makes for a very spicy Dijon-mustard, it will mellow out after a few days.
  2. The vinegar in this recipe acts as a preservative and allows this to remain fresh for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.Β
